Why the March 28 Earthquake in Thailand Shows Us Kingdom Nomads Is Needed Now More Than Ever

On March 28, 2025, a powerful 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar, near the border of Thailand, shaking cities across the region—including Bangkok. Though the epicenter was located in Myanmar’s eastern region, the tremors were felt strongly in Northern and Central Thailand, triggering panic, temporary evacuations, and widespread concern.

While structural damage in Bangkok was limited, the emotional toll was significant. Many residents, particularly expats and travelers, were left feeling vulnerable, confused, and disconnected in the aftermath of the quake.

A Wake-Up Call for the Disconnected

In moments like these, it becomes painfully clear just how important community, connection, and spiritual support truly are—especially for those living abroad.

Expats and digital nomads often find themselves navigating foreign systems, unfamiliar languages, and long-distance relationships with their families. When crisis strikes, that sense of isolation and helplessness can deepen.

This is where Kingdom Nomads steps in.

Our Mission: Support Beyond Borders

Kingdom Nomads exists to build Christ-centered communities abroad, creating spaces where travelers, missionaries, and remote workers can find faith, friendship, and support—especially in times of crisis.

Our first hub, launching in Thailand, is designed to be a place where people can:

  • Pray together

  • Serve together

  • Encourage one another

  • And most importantly, not face life alone

We’re building a global movement of believers who live on mission and lead with love, no matter where they go.

What the Earthquake Reminds Us

This earthquake is more than a news story—it’s a reminder.
A reminder that life abroad can shift in an instant.
A reminder that many are living in unfamiliar lands with no spiritual support system.
A reminder that the Kingdom must move, not stay behind four walls.

The fear, uncertainty, and trauma felt by expats in Thailand after the earthquake is real.
But so is our calling.

We’re Here—And We’re Coming to Serve

At Kingdom Nomads, we are preparing to respond—not just with words, but with presence. Our heart is to provide:

  • Safe places to gather

  • Leadership and prayer support

  • Help connecting to local resources and churches

  • And eventually, emergency response coordination in partnership with other missions

To the expats, travelers, and communities impacted by this disaster:
We see you. We care. And we’re coming.
